What the Open Town Centre of Coín is
A shopping centre with no walls: the streets of central Coín and the shops along them, working together.
A shopping centre without walls
An Open Town Centre (Centro Comercial Abierto) is a status granted by the Regional Government of Andalusia. The shops of one area of a town organise themselves and operate as a single shopping centre: joint campaigns, activities, coordinated opening hours and a shared brand.
The difference from an ordinary shopping centre is that there is no building and no underground car park. The aisle is the street and the shops are the ones that have always been there. You shop in the town centre, not on the outskirts.
The recognition is more than a badge for the door. It opens access to public funding for promotion, digitalisation and events: things a single shop could never pay for on its own.
Coín’s
The Regional Directorate of Commerce granted Coín Open Town Centre status on 28 May 2026, valid for four years. It was made public at the end of June.
It covers Calle Manuel García and the historic quarter, and is driven by the traders’ association Coín Emprende together with the Town Council. With this one, the province of Málaga now has nine open town centres, the second highest in Andalusia.

What you get
Knowing what your town has without walking around to find out. Here are the shops of the centre with their hours, phone numbers, how to get there and what they sell. Plus an assistant you can ask in your own words.
And when you buy here, the money stays in Coín: it pays local wages and keeps open the streets you walk down every day.
What your shop gets
Being where people look. A page with your hours, phone and photos comes up when somebody searches for what you sell, and the assistant recommends you.
Plus what the association brings: joint campaigns, events and access to the public funding the recognition unlocks.
